Obviously, fortune favors the prepared. The intention of this page is to walk you through the preparations you should make, before applying for a position on USS Hiroshima (NCC-70157-A)

First off, you should familiarize yourself with the Obsidian Fleet Rules and Regulations. This is highly recommended, as it will better prepare you for the application process and to give you better awareness of what is to be expected of you as a player. Furthermore, the fleet FAQ is an excellent resource.

Once you've read and are certain that you can fulfill these duties, start forming your character in your mind. I prefer detailed biographies, outlining a career that logically results in the character's position. Your biography should include the following points:

· Character's history (family, where he or she lived, etc)
· Character's education
· Character appearance
· Likes and dislikes
· Why the character joined Starfleet

Please look at some of the biographies on USS Hiroshima's website (see the crew page) as somewhat of a template. Note: Grammar, syntax and punctuation are part of that standard of excellence, which should make sense: creative writing is the heart of this style of gaming.

As for your sample post, make sure it has a direction. Does it advance the plot (ie - put things in motion that will be followed by other characters; be innovative), develop your character, etc, etc? If so, great! If not, perhaps reworking it would be a good idea.

Finally, before you submit the application, take the time to double-check all that you have written. I am interested in an applicant's best work and, therefore, assume that your application is nothing but.
