Ensign Khristi Relincar
Engineering Officer
Name: Khristi Relincar
Race: Human
Age: 22
Place of Birth: San Francisco, Terra Prime
Gender: Female

Physical Appearance:
Physique: Khristi is very thin (having swam since she was 5) but she isn’t obviously muscular; she has retained feminine proportions (excluding her almost six-pack, it’s pretty obvious in tight shirts and is blamed on butterfly stroke). Her feet are size tens but are more thin than the average persons so it appears that she has dainty feet, at least at a distance
Weight: 140 lbs
Height: 5’10"
Eye Color: Hazel, leaning towards green
Hair Color: She has a fondness for painfully bright washout dyes that don’t damage the hair (chlorine from where she swims is bad enough) but, on a non-color day, it’s a blonde/brown color, mostly blonde.

Personality Profile:
Talents/Abilities: Khristi has made some pretty impressive times in swimming; she’s a real good butterflyer and freestyler (even though she hates swimming). She draws manga and is the only person she knows who has a fully tamed grishnar cat kitten (named ghonDoq, means a slender bladed knife, like a stiletto. She calls him Fang) that is cared for by her roommate’s female calico cat, even though at six months he’s a bit bigger than a tiger cub. She has many random hobbies, but the ones that have stuck are reading, drawing, swimming, reading, teaching ghonDoq about the things he’s allowed to do (and not), playing cello, and reading.
Strengths: Khristi get many things done well on last minute scurries (i.e., reports aren’t done until 2300 hours). She is really good at converting thoughts and feelings into her pictures (which litter her not-so clean side of the quarters) and has been able to convert the emotions of a friend who had recently lost a loved one into an amazing air-brushed drawing that made the friend cry. It’s currently hanging up in his room above the bed. She is a tough nut to crack and indignantly stands up for herself and her friends. She’s also a decent cello player.
Limitations/Weaknesses: Khristi has asthma. Like most women, Khristi has a deadly weakness for chocolate. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, anything except flower-flavored isn’t safe around her. Khristi cannot stand handling raw meat or being a doctor, she thinks the bloody stuff “can be left to the medical grunts”, so all her replicated meals are cooked. She has a soft spot for pets, especially feline-like creatures. Her first cat she stole from an animal abusive neighbor, afterwards alerting the police (she had seen him attempt to strangle the cat through her window and the cat was extremely underweight, she could count his ribs from her bedroom window across the street). The emaciated creature was named Fuzzle and would follow her throughout the house, popping into her lap the minute she sat down. He hid when her family tried to pet him. Khristi has a deadly fear of snakes, her big brother once made her hyperventilate by tying her to a chair with some of his friends and letting a harmless python crawl down the back of her shirt. She soon passed out from sheer terror (she had been told it was a viper), awakening in the hospital with an oxygen mask. From age nine onward, she hated her brother, who is six years her senior. She occasionally has nightmares of being flung into pits of snakes by figures that look like her brother with red eyes and forked tongues.
Likes: the colors blue, green, purple; knitted beanies in any of those colors. Drawing manga, using her airbrush, books by J.R.R. Tolkien, fantasy books, cooking with her mom on holidays (i.e.- Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, etc), things that purr, sleeping in, complaining, petting ghonDoq, playing cello.
Dislikes: Snotty popular girls just rub her the wrong way. People who just want to be her friend because of her youth and physical attractiveness (she’s a skinny young blonde with long legs), people who scorn her art, those who hate ghonDoq (the cat), snakes, her big brother (she never forgave him), animal abusers, sea-foam green, some shades of teal and pink, swimming.
Quirks: Khristi is an extreme pessimist and, if she doesn’t like you, grants you a nasty nickname that is a hyperbole mirroring a negative attribute about you, i.e.- “Yet again, Ensign Hollow-Head was having issues telling the replicator to make a bean and cheese burrito. She still hadn’t forgiven him for the time he tripped and spilled it all over her drawing of Fang.” (This isn’t done to everybody; you have to REALLY piss her off). She is able to maintain a telepathic link with her pets (at least she THINKS she does, no one has been told of her suspicions, especially because ghonDoq talks back).
Special Abilities: Draws really well, she has a gut feeling about things before they happen, can make the most fierce of creatures seem like a 2 week old kitten, even if she just met them. Is able to talk telepathically to any pet of hers.
Ambitions: To make her own manga, write a book, retire on the coast of Hawaii with many cats and not be in a star ship that blows up.
Education: She skipped first and second grade. Even though there was a huge age gap, her abnormal height and oddly mature actions (after kindergarten, don’t let the glue fool you) let her fit in well with the world. She took graphic artistry and multiple mathematical sciences at a good college (she got into it because of good grades and scholarships in cello and swimming) before applying to Starfleet in 2377 at age 17.
Starfleet Service:
Starfleet Academy (cadet) - 2378-2382
USS Hiroshima - 2382 - present
Family:
Christian Relincar (father)
Amanda Relincar (mother)
Ted Relincar (big brother, 6 ears senior)
Nathalie Relincar (big sister, 3 years senior)
ghonDoq (pet, male ghrishnar (ghISnar) cat) aka Fang (easier for most people to remember than ghonDoq).

Character History:
Khristi was born July 7th, 2360 to Amanda and Christian Relincar in a small town called Mendocino, which is a couple hours north of San Francisco. One of her earliest childhood memories is of looking out her window and watching shuttles travel to and fro. Khristi was walking at 9 and a-half months, much to her parents pleasure. She was able to speak complete sentences at 2 and a-half, when she was 4 she was stuck in a tiny tots track team. She failed miserably due to her inexperience at dealing with asthma and spent the next 6 months switching from sport to sport. Three days after her 5 th birthday, she was put on a swim team by her exasperated parents at the recommendation of her preschool teacher (to help her deal with asthma). She took to the pool like a fish to water and was in it the rest of her school life, eventually leading to a scholarship.

When Khristi entered kindergarten, she was constantly bored by the easy regimen (her parents had tutored her; she was capable of everything needed skill wise by the average 3 rd grade class.), leading her to have the reputation of a troublemaker. Things she did include: gluing Brigit’s (the teacher’s pet) long silky pigtails to the chair she was sitting in, coloring her hair with magic marker, drawing on class work, falling asleep during math, and doing long division on her desk in marker. The confused teacher began keeping her in for recess and assessing her in all the 1 st grade standards. When that was aced, she was run through 2 nd. The teacher realized she was dealing with a “Matilda” case and asked the principal to put her in 3 rd the following year. From then on, Khristi was given second grade work (just to keep poor Brigit’s hair safe).

In 6th grade, her brother and some of his friends tied her to a chair and tricked her into believing that one of his friend’s pet python was actually a viper. One of her socks jammed into her mouth prevented her from calling out to her parents, which were in the yard arguing about where to dig (they were putting in a pond). Khristi had always been deadly afraid of snakes, and as the scaly monstrosity was being dangled in front of her face, she began to hyperventilate, and realized how helpless she was. Her brother had never cared about the fact his little sis had asthma, and she knew that she was helpless… and that her sock tasted nasty. Next thing she knew was that a painfully bright white ceiling was having a staring contest with her and that she was wearing an oxygen mask. She fell asleep to the rhythm of her breathing. She never forgave her brother. Neither did the other members of the family, well, not completely, at least.

In 7th grade, Khristi began orchestra and played the cello. She maintained second chair all of 7th, moving up to 1st in 8th. She was enamored with science, and began looking out her window a bit more often…
In high school, Khristi was given the choice to skip P.E. because she participated on the school swim team. Seizing her chance, she took an extra elective, Starfleet prep, course 1. All the following years of high school she was taking Starfleet Science preps and was eating up any books that had to do with Starfleet (she really enjoys non-fiction). After she graduated she took graphic artistry (she had been drawing all her life, drawing manga since 6 th grade and was really good at it) and various sciences. At age 17 she applied for Starfleet, continuing down the science career track until graduation. She was stationed on a science vessel until she took emergency leave (her mother was deathly sick and needed her “butterfly”, her mother did survive. That was a nerve wracking period of time for her) for about 6 months before joining the Hiroshima, during which she acquired a week-old grishnar cat. He was bottle fed until 2 months, at which he was the size of a 6-month-old cat. She called him Fang, recording his real name as ghonDoq, which means slender knife, like a stiletto.
