Background:

James "Jimmy" Monaco, born August 31st 2355 to his proud parents Chris and Joline Monaco.  Born and raised in North American continent of Earth; he became infatuated with with the ship yards through out his entire life.  From his time as a child to his teenage years he spent a lot of time working with his father on different projects: anything from building twentieth-century internal combustion automobiles to greenhouses. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and fought in the Dominion War.

James was badly injured during the battle of Cardassia when his ship was boarded by Dominion troops.  He still has the scar from a plasma fragmentation grenade that killed three of his squad members while defending the bridge of the U.S.S Victorious. After the Dominion War he chose to attend to the Starfleet academy and he graduated with a tactical specialty. During his time at the academy Jimmy became infatuated with this captivatingly beautiful named Chelsea Gerrard, an intelligence trainee. Jimmy chased her from the halls of the academy to the ends of the earth for her love and affection. She is the reason he passed quantum mathematics and he is the reason that she finished the academy. They got engaged shortly after graduation and they have been the happiest 5 years of his life.

Character personality:

James is an interesting man in a manner of speaking. He's a tough individual but Chelsea keeps him in line most of the time.  He's motivated by the part that Chelsea plays in his life as his refuge at times or just the force that grounds him.  He is loyal to a fault. If a captain was to go down with the ship he would be right next to that captain.  He also believes entirely in honor and respect. An example of this is his demeanor in reporting to his superiors, or his simple interactions with the rest of the crew.  Starfleet is so vital to Jimmy because of it's meaningfulness to him.  It gives him purpose, almost part of his identity. The structure Starfleet offers is essential to his life as he perceives it. He is very good at hiding his emotions but has been known to wear them on his sleeve at times. Most often he is calm and methodical in his demeanor. This applies to him on and off duty.
