Name: Adrianna Maye Darney
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 32
Height: 5' 7"
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Chestnut

Appearance: Adrianna is quite attractive. She takes pride in her physical condition and it shows, as she's a tad on the muscular-side of feminine. Though she is of average height, she is built athletically. She normally wears her long straight hair pulled back from her face in an unflattering low ponytail. She is usually watching her feet when she walks, and rarely makes direct eye contact.

Personality: Shy to a fault, Adrianna is quite happy to be a loner. Though gifted intellectually, she is very insecure in social situations, and prefers to avoid them entirely as she is always worried about saying the wrong things and being misunderstood. Oftentimes she gets so absorbed in her work or thoughts that she tends to unintentionally tune others out. This has given her a few nasty nicknames as she's seen as being arrogant and aloof, but in reality, she's nothing of the sort.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Adrianna is very competitive when it comes to her work. This can usually be both a strength and a weakness, depending on the situation. She also has a strong perfectionistic streak, but can never quite live up to her own standards... thus her insecurity. She has a passionate love for xenobiology, and has excelled both academically and professionally in that field. Along the way, she has also developed a strong interest in forensic pathology, and has provided essential assistance to security teams in several instances.

Family History:

  • Father: Walter Carl Darney, Senior Shipbuilder, Utopia Planita Shipyards
  • Mother: Opalinda Grace (Xian) Darney - Deceased
  • Siblings: None
  • Spouse: David Louis Dawson - Deceased

Ambitions: To be the best, both in the workplace and on the playing field.

Hobbies/interests: She loves to play soccer, (goalkeeper). She enjoys hiking, water sports, especially body surfing, and high altitude sky diving. She also enjoys a good pathological mystery.

Personal History:

Adrianna grew up near the Utopia Planetia Shipyards where her father worked, which exposed her to differing races and cultures at a young age. Adrianna gained an early interest in Starfleet; as a child she first (as young children do,) yearned to be a Starship Captain. Her father nurtured the urge in her, recognizing her inherent abilities young. He dreamt of her becoming a fine Starfleet Engineer... surpassing him; the lowly blue collar ship builder.

However, after her mother passed away when Adrianna was only ten, (from an unexplained illness purportedly contracted from one of the passing exploratory vessels), Adrianna 's interest in pathology began... a seemingly morbid fascination with death, and the elements that cause it. Adrianna devoured any medical text she could get her hands on, even to the point of visiting ships coming in for repairs and "interviewing" whatever medical officers would put up with being questioned by a mere child.

Death touched Adrianna's life again in 2382, as she lost her husband of one year, CMO of the USS Vasquez, Dr. David Louis Dawson and her unborn child. The next year she nearly lost another loved one, her father... to an accident at the Shipyards. Always a daddy's girl, she took a leave of absence from her posting to tend to him. Thankfully, he recovered and Adrianna was able to return to duty. She left her best friend in the world, her golden retriever, "True" there on Utopia to watch over him while she continued her Starfleet career. Adrianna was posted to the USS Kyushu in 2383. True returned to her possession there. On one Kyushu mission with help from science and medical staff, they rescued a stranded Borg maturation chamber that had survived the destruction of a Borg Sphere. They were able to save the chamber's contents, a hybrid female, by stabilizing her metabolism. The child, christened Morrigan Kyushu by the ship's crew was sent to Earth to be adopted and studied further. Adrianna was appointed as Morrigan's official guardian.

That year Adrianna was also awarded the Patterson Award for her work with a patient, Lieutenant Commander Tommy Robertson who presented with an "untreatable" infection of bioneural gel throughout his system.  He was brought from the cusp of death to full health through a series of unprecedented innovative treatment solutions.
